About Us
The Rutgers Summer Housing for Interns Program (R-SHIP) offers convenient, affordable, and comfortable summer housing for college students completing internships in New Brunswick, Piscataway, and the surrounding Central New Jersey area.
Located on Rutgers University’s College Avenue Campus, our program provides furnished apartment-style accommodations with private bedrooms, shared bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces. Residents enjoy access to campus amenities, laundry facilities, fitness options, and convenient transportation to surrounding areas. The New Brunswick Train Station is 0.2 miles from the apartments, and parking is available in the College Avenue Parking Deck, a short walk down College Avenue.
Whether you’re interning at a leading company, gaining hands-on professional experience, or doing research with a Rutgers department, R-SHIP offers a welcoming residential community where you can focus on making the most of your summer.

Each Sojourner Truth Apartment features four private single bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a common living area, providing residents with both personal space and opportunities to connect with fellow interns. Furnished accommodations include air conditioning, and residents have access to on-site common laundry facilities, fitness amenities, and secure, 24-hour lobby access.
The building is conveniently located near downtown New Brunswick and offers easy access to Rutgers’ campus resources and transportation options. Sojourner Truth Apartments
Rutgers' newest residence hall features 135 single-bedroom apartments (up to four single bedrooms per unit) on 13 residential floors. The first floor of the Sojourner Truth Apartments is home to The Yard, a New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) multi-use project that features communal areas and green spaces, along with select retailers and restaurants.
