San José State University, the first public institution of higher education in California, is located in lively downtown San José. Summer interns stay in the heart of Silicon Valley, with the entire Bay Area accessible through local mass transit.

During the summer, San Jose State approximately houses around 150 Interns from around the country who are working at the many different companies throughout the Silicon Valley.

Due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19 all bookings (Overnight Guest Housing and Intern Housing) will be held on a tentative basis, both parties (Intern or Overnight Guest & SJSU) have the right to cancel the booking, up until 2 weeks before arrival. You will receive an email confirmation 2 weeks before arrival confirming your booking. Please keep an eye out for this email. Payment will be collected upon check-in. Vaccine verification will take place upon check-in.

housing options

Intern Housing Options:

Intern Housing is offered in Campus Village 2 and Campus Village Building B. This housing is for people who are here for summer internships throughout the Silicon Valley and need temporary housing for the summer.

Campus Village 2 (CV2) is a 10 story dormitory style facility with multiple, shared bathrooms down the hall. The rooms are furnished with a twin extra long bed, a dresser, closet, and a desk for each person. Single and double occupancy rooms are available. Wireless internet is included. Linen and parking is at an additional cost and laundry facilities (operated by credit card or app) are located on each floor. CV2 has bike racks located outside of the building for use to Interns. CV2 does NOT have a kitchen nor access to a kitchen facility.

Campus Village Building B (CVB) is the location of the SJSU’s apartments, the Recreation Activities Center (RAC), and the Village Market. It is the centerpiece of the Campus Village and features a 15 story tower. It features 4 bedroom apartments equipped with a kitchen (with standard size oven and stove, full size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher), bathroom, and living room area. CVB has all single occupancy bedrooms. This year the apartment will have 4 bedrooms, but only 3 in each apartment will be used, so occupancy will be 3 people in each apartment. Each bedroom is furnished with a twin extra long bed, a dresser, closet, and a desk. Wireless internet is included. Linen and parking are additional costs. CVB Includes a formal lounge, recreational lounge with pool tables, and computer lab, and laundry facilities (operated by credit card or app) are located on the first floor of the building. CVB also has bike racks available for use in the parking garage.

Quarantine rooms are no longer available. Anyone with COVID-19 or any other illness will be expected to isolate in their own room space until they are well.
