The Towers is an apartment-style residence hall on-campus at City College of New York, which will provide you a great place to live during your internship.

The community offers free wireless internet service throughout the entire building (including resident rooms and lounges), a multi-purpose seminar room, a fitness center, a central laundry facility, a community kitchen and lounge area with a billiards table and large TV with comfortable seating.

The Towers is a secure building, with access only available for residents via a secure access card. There is a 24-Hour Courtesy Desk to help with any questions you have or needs during your stay. Additionally, there are closed-circuit security cameras located throughout the building.

The housing team at The Towers are happy to give you a virtual or in-person tour of the building and answer any questions you might have about the building and neighborhood.

The Towers is the perfect place to make your home base while completing an internship in New York City. It provides a safe and secure home, access to many on-site amenities, and an easy jumping-off point for all the entertainment and cultural activities NYC has to offer!

The Towers offers 2 different housing options for summer interns:

• Double Occupancy Suite, which provides a shared bedroom and shared bathroom and kitchen for $65 per night ($455 a week). The double occupancy suite has two (2) bedrooms and houses up to 4 occupants.

• Single Occupancy Suite, which provides a shared suite with a private bedroom and bathroom, and a shared kitchen and living room for $77 per night ($539 a week). The single occupancy suite has four (4) bedrooms and houses up to 4 occupants.

Floor plans for each room type are included in the photo slideshow at the top of the page.

All units come fully furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and closet space. The kitchenettes include a refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, and sink. A full stove is available in the community kitchen.

When you want to enjoy what New York City has to offer, you'll have quick access to public transportation from The Towers, with the nearest subway stop 5 minutes away.

There is a grocery store, banks, pharmacies, and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk of The Towers, in addition to multiple nightlife, cultural, and entertainment options. When you check-in, you'll be given The Towers Summer Housing Guide, which includes a listing of local Black owned businesses in our neighborhood.

What is the latest day I can apply for summer housing at The Towers?

The priority deadline for Summer 2024 intern housing applications is April 30, 2024. We house interns on a space-available basis. It may take up to 10 business days to process an intern housing application.

How do I contact the Towers Office and where is it located?

The office is located on the first floor in room 129. Office hours are typically 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. You can contact the office at 917-507-0070.

How do I contact the Courtesy Desk and where is it located?

The Courtesy Desk is open 24-hours a day and is located on the first floor near the main entrance.

What is the best way to get to The Towers?

The Towers is located at 401 West 130 Street. The main entrance is at the corner of St. Nicholas Terrance and West 132nd Street. The Towers are located about 5 minutes from the 125th subway station.

How do I check-in?

Interns check in at The Towers office during business hours and at the Courtesy Desk when the office is closed. Interns may check in as early as 9:00am on their move-in date. Checkout is at 12pm on the day you are scheduled to depart. You will need a physical, valid, government-issued photo ID with you in order to check-in.

How do I get mail or packages?

Your address and instructions on picking-up mail and packages will be emailed to you when you check-in at the Courtesy Desk.

What if there is something wrong with my room?

Residents can submit a work order request via the resident portal once they've moved in.

Non-emergency requests can also be addressed via email to the housing team at towers@ccny.cuny.edu.

Emergency requests include fire, lack of electricity, broken doors/locks/windows, lack of air conditioning, toilet not functioning, lack of water/flooding/broken pipes. All emergency requests should be made to the 24-hour Courtesy Desk located in the lobby. The Courtesy Desk will contact maintenance for assistance.

Where can I do laundry while I'm staying at The Towers?

The Towers has an onsite laundry room where you can do your laundry at no cost. Additionally, you can see if there are available washers/dryers and get notified when you're laundry is done using the Laundry View system.

Can I set up a payment plan for my intern housing costs?

We unfortunately cannot accommodate requests for payment plans. Full payment is required by the contracted move-in date. The Towers has a strict no-pay, no-key policy.

How do I apply for housing at The Towers?

Once you fill out the inquiry form on this page, you will be emailed by Towers staff with some follow-up questions regarding your housing needs. Afterwards, if you decide you want to live at The Towers in Summer 2024, fill out the housing application on The Towers website at www.ccnytowers.com.
