About Us

Welcome to UC San Diego Summer Intern Housing

The Summer Intern Housing Program at UC San Diego offers specially arranged on-campus accommodations for student interns during the summer, at the low cost of $75.50. It’s run through UC San Diego’s Hospitality & Conference Services and designed to provide interns with comfortable, convenient housing.

What it includes:
  • A private bedroom in a shared apartment setting with a kitchen and common areas.
  • Amenities such as Wi-Fi and laundry facilities.
  • Easy access to campus dining, recreation, and nearby beaches.
Convenient Transportation:

UC San Diego has its own San Diego Trolley station on campus — part of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) light rail network. Interns can use the trolley to travel to downtown San Diego (Petco Park), other neighborhoods, and transit connections throughout the region. The Blue Line stops directly at the UC San Diego Central Campus Station, making getting around without a car easy and affordable.

Eligibility & Logistics:
  • Applicants must be 18+ and provide documentation showing an internship placement.
  • Housing is reserved in advance, and stays typically must be at least two weeks during the summer session.
Why this matters:

This program isn’t just housing — it’s a gateway to living on a vibrant university campus, with access to local transit, social opportunities, and a short commute to work, events, and San Diego attractions.
