GW will be fully open for Summer 2023 and we are excited to welcome summer guests and groups to campus.

Our location in the heart of the Nation’s Capital is ideally situated for guests to take full advantage of everything that is available in D.C. GW Summer Housing takes great pride in offering convenient, flexible, and affordable housing. Our reservation process makes it easy to secure housing in Washington DC and request other services to round out your summer stay.

Our various housing options offer amenities and living styles for every need all while being fully immersed in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

  • Long-Term Stay reservations have a 7-week minimum stay requirement and 10-week maximum.

We organize our residence halls into distinct categories. While each of our halls is unique, guests will find common amenities among the halls represented within each category. Our individual housing rates vary based on the level of amenities and length of stay.

Rates do not include the 14.95% District of Columbia Gross Sales Tax. Review the qualifications to see if you can be considered for tax exemption.

  • The Buff & Blue Option

    The Buff & Blue Option includes everything in the Monumental option, plus in-unit washers and dryers.

    The Summer 2023 housing rate/cost for the Buff & Blue Option is $490 per week per person, with a minimum of 7 weeks of stay.

    Amenities in the Buff & Blue Option include:

    • In-unit washers and dryers
    • Furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, wardrobe or closet, and a dining table and chairs
    • Private in-suite bathroom(s)
    • A kitchen with a microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator
    • Air conditioning

    The Monumental Option
    Furnished bedroom with bed, desk, and chair.

    Rooms in our Monumental Option consists of our studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments in some GW's newest residence halls

    The Summer 2023 housing rate/cost for the Monumental Option is $434 per week per person, with a minimum of 7 weeks of stay.

    Amenities in the Monumental Option include:

    • In-unit bathrooms
    • A private kitchen with a microwave oven
    • Air conditioning
    • Laundry facilities in building – coin operated

    The Capital Option

    These apartments have a defined kitchen, in-suite bathroom, and are available in various sizes.

    The Summer 2022 housing rate/cost for the Capital Option is $385 per week per person, with a minimum of 7 weeks of stay.

    Capital Option room amenities include:

    • Most units are studio-style living that is set up as one large living/sleeping/dining space
    • Furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, wardrobe or closet and a dining table and chairs
    • A private bathroom
    • An in-suite kitchen with a microwave oven
    • Air conditioning

    The Raise High Option

    The Raise High Option contains residence halls and are what most consider a typical college residence hall room.  While these options come with the least amount of personal amenities they are also some of the most economical spaces available. 

    The Summer 2023 housing rate/cost for the Raise High Option is $336 per week per person, with a minimum of 7 weeks of stay.

    Raise High rooms include:

    • Furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, and wardrobe or closet
    • Common floor bathrooms or private in-suite bathrooms
    • A microwave and mini-refrigerator
    • Air conditioning
    • Building or community kitchens
    • Laundry facilities in building – coin operated

    Greek Housing consists of the following:

    • Single occupancy bedrooms within a larger townhouse
    • Bedrooms furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, and a wardrobe or closet
    • Most townhouses also offer a community kitchen, living and dining room
    • An en-suite or community bathroom
    • Air conditioning
