Is parking available?

If you are bringing a vehicle to campus, you may register for parking via the intern registration form. Parking will be available in the East River Road Garage if staying in Yudof Hall, or Oak Street Ramp if staying at Pioneer Hall, at a daily rate of $11.

If you are assigned to Radius Apartments, you will work with the building management team to secure parking upon your arrival.

What dining options are available?

Dinkytown and Stadium Village

The University of Minnesota campus area offers two distinct neighborhoods that provide a variety of dining and shopping options. Dinkytown and Stadium Village include everything you need, from dining to drugstores, all within a short walk of campus.

Pioneer Hall

There is also a residential dining center in Pioneer Hall open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Interns who wish to eat in the Pioneer dining center may purchase a meal plan from M Dining prior to their arrival or pay at the door.

What do I need to bring?

Linens, blankets, a pillow, and a towel are provided. You should bring your own toiletries and any other personal belongings you will want or need to have during your stay with us.

Is there transportation available from the airport to campus?

The University does not provide transportation; however, there are many ways to easily access campus, including taxi companies and the public transportation system. For more information on Metro Transit, the public transportation system, visit metrotransit.org.

What time is check-in / check-out?

Check-in is 1 pm.

New residents may arrive for check-in beginning at 1 pm on the first day of their stay and may check-in at any time — The information desk is open 24 hours a day.

Check-out is noon.

Departing residents must check out by noon the final day of their stay. No refunds will be given for early departures.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Please refer to your reservation confirmation to indicate the residence hall where you will be housed.

Check-in is available at the information desk in the lobby of the assigned building.

I need to cancel my reservation. How do I do that?

Email Conference & Event Services at uces@umn.edu to inform us of your cancellation. We will cancel your reservation and deactivate your registration.

Please Note

Interns will be billed for the entire amount if cancellation is not received within 14 days prior to their arrival.

Can my spouse/friend stay with me during my stay?

Overnight guests are not allowed without having their own reservation.

Can I reserve a private apartment?

The Intern Housing Program does not traditionally offer private apartments. If you would like a private apartment, please contact uces@umn.edu.
