Kaii Mitchell shared their 2026 summer internship in Chicago, IL
Over the past summer, I had the opportunity to intern at DePaul College of Science and Health as a Research Assistant for 6 weeks. I was very nervous about relocating for the summer without any friends or family, but I am so grateful I did. This opportunity opened so many doors for me both academically and professionally. I worked on a psychology-based project concerning attitudes toward homelessness with Dr. Nyssa Snow-Hill. Our goal with our research was to be able to understand and measure people's attitudes toward those experiencing homelessness and to ultimately change those attitudes to reduce stigma/discrimination and increase implementation to help these underserved populations. I got to meet many new friends and build closer bonds with faculty and my grad mentors, and I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work as an intern.
